Bear hunting in Minnesota is on a lottery system. Applications are available in late March and the deadline to submit your application for the 2008 season is May 4th. Lottery results are available by June 15th.
All of the details for your successful hunt are prepared long before you get here. Bear hunting stations are tended to daily in anticipation of your arrival. All you have to do is hunt.
After you successfully get your bear, we skin it, prepare the hide for a taxidermist, and if you wish, have the meat prepared for you to take home.

1) What is the cost of a license in Minnesota? The cost of a bear hunting license in Minnesota is $39 for residents and $201 for non-residents.
2) What are my chances of being drawn for a tag? You have about a 95% chance of being drawn your first year. You may apply individually or as a group.
3) How do I apply for a tag? We can apply for the tag for you, or you can apply for the tag online through the Minnesota DNR.
4) How far in advance should I book my hunt? To get the dates you prefer, earlier is better.
5) When does season open? Minnesota bear season opens September 1.
6) Are lodging and meals included in the hunt? We do have some lodging available and work with a local hotel only a few minutes from our lodge, however it is not included in the hunt. RV hook ups are available. Some meals are provided for you at no charge during your hunt and there are restaurants within 5 minutes. Kitchen facilities are also available if you would like to do your own cooking.
7) What is your success rate? We have averaged about 80% since we began guiding. Last year, 17 of 21 hunters had the opportunity to take bear. To make sure our hunters have both a successful and enjoyable hunt, only a limited number of spots are available.
